The transformation of Kendall and Ravi who gave one another love,
acceptance, and confidence when no one else believed in them.
Kendall, still timid but gaining confidence, stands on Ravi’s back for the first time in November 2011.
In September 2012, Kendall has Ravi ready for his first competetive show.
Kendall in 2016 at age 17. Now an accomplished equestrian, she knows that she and Ravi still have something to prove to everyone who doubted her and her horse.
Communicating on the longe line
Kendall, wearing her No Worries Club t-shirt from Downunder Horsemanship, longes Ravi in 2014 to maintain his ground manners and their communication. Moving a horse’s feet on the longe line establishes respect from the horse who then views the person as the leader. In a herd, the horse that moves the other horses’ feet is the leader.
Ravi is wearing Easy Boots to protect his bare hooves from the hard ground in the arena. Her saddle, that she named Laverne, is an antique Bona Allen saddle made in the 1960s.
And Off the Longe Line
In this video, Kendall longes Ravi off the longe line in 2013, using only her body language to control him. Because he sees Kendall as his leader, Ravi stays with her instead of running off.
2017 Palomino Youth World Show
In July 2017 at age 18, Kendall Morrison took Ravi, her horse she had trained for the past six years, to compete at the Palomino Youth World Show in Tunica, MS. There, without a professional trainer like all the other kids had, they won a Palomino Horse Breeders Association Reserve World Championship in Novice Youth Showmanship. They also won PHBA NSBA championships in both Novice Youth Showmanship and Novice Youth Hunter Under Saddle, earned 6th in the world in Youth Ranch Riding, and finished with multiple top five and top 10 placings.

Above right: At the last minute, Kendall throws Ravi in the Youth Ranch Riding class that requires the team to ride a pattern and perform various maneuvers, something Ravi hates to do. With a little sass thrown in, Ravi, who isn’t prepared to compete in this class, surprisingly performs a clean pattern and they finish the show by placing 6th in the world in Youth Ranch Riding.
